Safety and about
Better by TCM is the name of this website, matching the domain betterbytcm.com. TCM is a common English short form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. On these pages it only names the traditions being described: everyday food, gentle movement, and a beginner account of tuina and self-massage.
The word better in the title is not a promise that any practice will improve a medical condition. The pages do not say that traditional methods work as treatment. They describe a few small practices and the reasons to be careful with them.
Who the notes are for
They are written in English for readers who want a calm introduction and do not already study these traditions. The examples use home measures, a chair, and a walk. They assume you can stop. If a clinician has given you limits, those limits come first.
How tradition and evidence are labeled
Notes marked as historical tradition describe an older or cultural way of talking. They are not instructions for illness. Notes marked as what we can and cannot say keep a general public fact, such as ordinary food safety or the value many guidelines place on walking, separate from a traditional theory. This site does not invent studies, quotations, degrees, or patient stories. If a claim would need a citation, the page leaves the claim out.
What these pages do not do
- They do not prescribe herbal medicines, formulas, or doses.
- They do not teach acupressure for disease or name points as treatment.
- They do not give exercises for a diagnosis, and they do not include forceful breathing, neck circles, or practices that ask you to ignore pain.
- They do not sell courses, take payment, or collect email addresses.
- They do not replace a physician, a dietitian, a physical therapist, or a qualified tuina practitioner. Self-massage does not replace professional care.
No organization is claimed here
These pages do not name a founder, a clinic, a school, or a company address, because those details are not part of this project. Better by TCM is the website title. It is not presented as a registered care provider. There is no contact form in this version.
How to use a page
- Read the safety lines before you cook, move, or use your hands.
- Pick one practice from Start with one small step.
- Stop while it still feels manageable. Repeating the same step another day is a complete plan.
The notes were drafted for this first version in November 2026. They can be revised. Nothing on the site is a standing medical review.
